I was looking for a boot that both had some style as well as some function and was happy to discover these. The harness boot look and feel comes with waterproof construction, zipper shank, and a Vibram sole. Between Amazon and another store, I ended up ordering and trying all of sizes 11, 11.5, and 12. My foot measures a solid 12.5 in length in stores, but is also pretty narrow (that said, I've never specifically bought narrow shoes). Despite reading that these boots fit true to size, I kept the 11s and at that I bought $6 arch support insoles from Walmart as much to help improve the fit of the boot on my foot as to provide any arch support. My toes are jammed in the end of the size 11, but this being my first pair of true leather boots I was pleased to find that my toes are comfortable and that the boot has relaxed a bit around them. By comparison, in the size 12 I was swimming in all directions (not just 1/4" heel slip for being new harness boots). The other issue I have is that in only the left boot of the size 11 that I kept, something is wrong with the construction or stitching at the top inside corner near the zipper. This creates sort of a sharp point/edge, enough that I have a red spot on my leg where that rubbed even though I haven't worn these in over a week. This is probably an uncommon defect, but unfortunate none the less.So far I've only worn these boots in cold and dry weather, so I don't know how they'll do in warmer or wet weather.Would I buy these again? I think 80% chance or better, which will ratchet up another notch if I can get the sharp edge issue fixed too.
